It's so embarrasing. Just can't read this.

Target.com $6,000,000 Fine - 6m reasons to be compliant.

Our legal opinion is as follows. 'We believe that if you provide access on your website/intranet to the Talklets Disability and Accessibilty Toolbar, which can read your site built to W3C accessibility guidelines, you will have made 10 'reasonable adjusments', and you meet the legal requirements in the public sector UK for an organisational set of policies, procedures and practices that support digital inclusivity, that would satisfy the legal requiremnets of a web owner in meeting the needs of the elderly, disabled and associated audiences.' We reccomend you also check our belief with your own lawyer and keep up to date with any technologies that make accessibility easier for your customers and 'reasonable' to introduce.

Our marketing and communication opinion is as follows. In addition to the 20% + audiences that benefit from accessibility the multi-sensory i.e. rich media experience of all users can add up to a furhter 20% + in retention of information - see . In other words everyone benefits.

The news story tells you whether or not the time has arrived to do something about inclusivity, accessibility and the significant marketng opportunity around digital inclusivity.
